Handwriting
At Potter Street we follow a handwriting scheme called ‘Teach Handwriting’
In Reception, children start to learn to write letters in a cursive script. For more information on how letters are formed and written at this early stage go to https://www.teachhandwriting.co.uk/cursive-letters-beginners-choice-4.html. As children progress through the school they learn the cursive joins, please visit Continuous Cursive Joins Letter version 4 - Animations and Worksheets (teachhandwriting.co.uk) in order to watch animations on how these joins are formed. www.teachhandwriting.co.uk also has a range of resources to support with developing good handwriting including videos on how to have the correct pencil grip and posture.
A comprehensive guide to teaching, and helping improve, children’s handwriting, using practice worksheets, animations, games, activities, information and advice. |
